War — #ThingADay 29/31

Below is the twenty ninth poem for the #ThingADay Challenge

War began today.
Another ember smoldering
in a world on fire.

More tragedy for the pyre.

Dickens was not wrong.
It was the best of times.
It was the worst of times.

On both sides, crimes.

Whether apathy at catastrophe,
or a blind eye toward reality.

The truth remains.

War yesterday.
War today.
War tomorrow.

War forever.

Too much war, not enough tears.
